Corporate International Accountant

We are currently recruiting for an International Accountant to join our fantastic Finance Team here at our London office! This is a newly created role, and is an exciting opportunity to support the international growth of Baringa whilst specifically assisting with the reporting and filing requirements for all of Baringa’s international operations. This is a great opportunity to gain exposure across the main areas of a finance function from an International perspective.

What will you be doing?
International reporting

The responsibilities detailed below currently relate to Australia, Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Malaysia, Norway, UAE, USA, Singapore & Switzerland (“International operations”). Please note that some of the responsibilities detailed below will only be applicable to some of our International operations and other geographies will be added as required.

Management Accounts
  • Assistance with the production of timely and insightful monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary
  • Preparation of prepayments and other debtors’ schedules
  • Preparation of accruals and other creditors schedules
  • Review of the salary control accounts. This includes working closely with the HR team to ensure all payroll control accounts balance
  • Review of the sales and purchase ledgers to identify any anomalies
  • Preparation of indirect tax reconciliations
  • Preparation of depreciation schedules
Statutory & tax
  • Preparation of monthly / quarterly indirect tax return schedules
  • Assistance with the preparation of International Statutory Accounts 
  • Assistance with the International Corporate Tax returns
  • Assistance with preparation of Audit files and liaising with External Auditors
  • Liaising with Baringa’s external advisors to ensure all documents are submitted in accordance with local requirements
  • Working alongside other members of the finance team to support the day to day workings of the International Operations 
  • Working closely with the International Finance Manager and cover for her in her absence
  • Work on other ad hoc projects as agreed

Team Work

To be able to work as part of a team ensuring that the monthlyprocesses are kept to target and relaying any information to relevant membersof the accounts team ensuring accurate end of month figures.Ensure manager is advised of the main areas of work, key issues and problems

Continuous Improvement

Contributes to the review of policies, processes andprocedures to identify weaknesses and implement controls.

Knowledge Management

Maintain and update own knowledge of International reportingand tax issues, keeping abreast of changes in legislation and practice,ensuring that knowledge is shared and acted upon as appropriate

Education & Professional Qualifications
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Newly qualified or late finalist accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)

Technical Skills& Knowledge

  • Highly analytical; strong technical accounting skills

  • Experience of working with international groups or a strong desire do to so

  • Highly computer literate; competent in using Excel and complex accounting systems.


  • Attention to detail is vital

  • Hands on and enthusiastic

  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels (written and verbal)

  • Experience in working in a professional services organisation is preferable
