Energy Advisory Energy Markets and Investment Expert (Sydney)

We are looking for an experienced energy markets and investment expert to join our growing advisory team in Sydney. The right candidate will be able to express their views and perspectives on the market and be comfortable in front of senior clients. Also, in keeping with our strong people focus, we need people who are just as passionate about their own development, and that of their team as they are about our industries.

We are a company that values our people as highly as the work we are renowned for, and we place our people at the forefront of everything we seek to achieve. Inclusion, innovation and trust are key tenets that underpin our culture and help us foster an environment where everyone can participate, feel appreciated and succeed.

Our market leading growth along with our continued ambitious expansion plans mean that we can continue to offer our employees the progression, development and diverse range of client engagements they are looking for.

These are the reasons people come to us, and these are the reasons they stay.

What will you be doing?

You will be working at the forefront of the energy sector alongside market specialists with deep industry knowledge where you will be able to deploy and then broaden your skill set and expertise.

Examples of relevant Australian engagements we have worked on in the past year, or are currently working on, include:

  • Provided market advisory, wholesale price, MLF and curtailment projections, and transaction due diligence support to over 40 developers, investors and lenders
  • Providing market modelling and regulatory advice to inform assessments of new interconnector development options
  • Modelling future pricing and demand in the FCAS markets for renewable energy developers, with analysis of the impact of reduced system inertia on FCAS needs
  • Producing a report for Energy Networks Australia (ENA) on lessons from international experience relevant to converting AEMO’s Integrated System Plan (ISP) into an actionable plan, to feed into the COGATI review
  • Working with energy market bodies on policy and regulatory reforms, including the five minute settlement rule change, retailer reliability obligation and the development of Renewable Energy Zones (REZs)

In all of our client engagements, we are also lucky to be able to draw upon the extensive expertise and experience of our global energy advisory team, headquartered in London.

What’s in it for both of us?

    What are we looking for?

What is in it for you?

    • The chance to operate at the forefront of the energy industry with senior stakeholders
    • Competitive salary and benefits
    • A true meritocracy: Quarterly promotions solely based on your own performance
    • A good work-life balance: setting the right expectations with clients, and managing the workload collaboratively with the team
    • We invest in you, to ensure you remain the best in the business
