What will you be doing?

The role

  • Building analytical tools for analysing energy markets.
  • Supporting development of data architecture.
  • Using existing tools and developing new ones to analyse markets.
  • Supporting data analysis and undertaking bespoke client analysis.
  • Developing new market models in our existing toolkit - PLEXOS.
  • Executing models to support the consulting team.
  • Working closely with team to understand markets and define modelling requirements.

Required skills

  • Quantitative background and degree, MSc, PhD  in maths, operational research or physics.
  • Experience of developing models in tools such as R, matlab, Python, Aimms.
  • Coding background would be extremely benefitial.
  • Familiarity with stochastic and linear programming methods desirable but not essential.
  • Some familiarity with energy industry / markets is preferable.
  • Great team working skills
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts and modelling results succinctly to both technical and non-technical colleagues
