We are based in London, but have offices in Germany, New York and UAE, supporting over 500 consultants working around the globe.

We have a small team of dedicated and talented HR professionals, taking on responsibility for all “people” aspects of the business. This includes the whole employee life cycle, from attracting new joiners, on-boarding, development throughout their career, ensuring they work in a balanced and healthy way, supporting them when needed, enabling efficient and effective processes throughout, every day, for their entire journey at Baringa.

We are now looking for an experienced HR Manager to join us to work with the HR team and the wider business.

This HR Manager would be, at a high level, accountable for three distinct HR areas: HR Operations, Performance Management and Career Development at Baringa. As we continue to grow organically with attrition at less than 10% in any typical year, we need to ensure our HR and people processes are set up to enable the future size and shape of the business to operate effectively and efficiently, using the appropriate tools. Supporting the ever evolving business needs and being a key player in the change management of the firm, is a core part of this role. With a balance of projects and operational HR initiatives, the HR Manager will be responsible for the full employee life cycle as well as the development and growth of other members of the HR team.

What will you be doing?
Activities will include:
  • HR-Operations:
    • Lead the delivery of top quality HR operations, supported by effective and efficient processes and tools
    • Actively drive continuous improvement of our HR services by identifying areas for improvement and then manage or provide input to improvement initiatives
    • On-boarding and Exit – Responsible for effective and thorough on-boarding process. Oversee and hold exit interviews, produce associated analysis and reporting. Follow up on any issues raised
    • Support the roll-out of the new HRIS (Talentia)
    • Contribute to the development of budgets and monitor performance against the agreed budget
  • Performance Management and Career management
    • Lead a strategic review of our current performance and career management processes and support the subsequent change required across the business
    • Drive the continued development and embedding of a supportive performance management culture across the business
    • Coordinate and oversee the mid and end of year reviews, quarterly promotions and salary reviews
  • HR MI
    • Support the development of a People Dashboard
    • Improve access, quality and efficiency of MI, ensuring BU Leads have the necessary people information to perform well and in a timely manner
  • HR function and team:
    • Contribute to the development of HR functional strategy and objectives
    • Build a strong relationship and dialogue with the relevant sponsors within the People Strategy Exec as well as the People Process Implementation Exec (PPI)
    • Lead, coach and manage two to three people within the HR team (Advisor and/or Assistant level) o Plan and manage the team’s activities to achieve stated/agreed objectives
    • Lead and/or support recruitment of new team members as required
    • Develop and implement appropriate knowledge management systems to support own professional areas and contribute and share knowledge within the HR function
  • HR Projects – Participate in, or lead broader HR or cross-company projects/initiatives as required
  • Contribute as an active member within internal committees; including People Champions, Culture Club, Balance Baringa, etc.

Characteristics & Experience Desired:

  • Strong experience in HR change management (organisational and cultural behaviour change) as well as the implementation of new processes and policies
  • Strong experience of successfully running HR operations and performance management in previous roles, as well as managing a team
  • An excellent communicator who can help develop good HR practice with a strong stakeholder management capability, to interact effectively with the executive management team as well as the wider business at Baringa
  • Good team player, who works collaboratively to achieve goals and objectives
  • A self-motivated individual who can work on their own initiative, with a “can do” attitude, willing to roll-up their sleeves and “get stuck in”
  • Professional, personable and people-focused individual
  • Experience in professional services would be ideal

Technical Skills & Qualifications Desired:

  • CIPD qualification would be desirable
  • Proficient knowledge of Human Resource Management best practice
  • Proficient in MS Office applications – in particular MS Excel to an advanced level (essential)
